A 7-min Workout, Simple Human Pleasures, & the Substack's We Actually Read...
6 Things That Brought Me Dignity | March
Amy here, happy Spring! We loved this last month so I’m back for another month with my list of 6 things that made me happy in March including, a 7-min workout that gives instant results every time, the only nourishing lip treatment meets lipstick I’ve ever reorder, the simple human pleasure I hope I never get too jaded to appreciate, plus the substacks we’re actually reading.
You already know I’m not one to buy a lot of things or linger on things.
In fact, I am a bit of a minimalist — simply because of the number of times my family has moved homes (and countries).
So when something sings to me, I pay attention, add to cart and checkout!
On to the list!

A 7-min Workout That Gives Instant Results, Every Time — It was five days after the birth of our daughter that my husband began seeing private patients in our home again. Did I mention we lived in Tel-Aviv, in a teeny tiny one bedroom apartment? Like most first time parents, it took years before we’ve let go of the habits that make up who we were, before becoming parents. And so here we were — a newborn baby, me and my husband, him treating patients in the living room, and me doing HIIT workouts on our iconic closed-in balcony. Yup. 6.5 years later, this is still the 7-min workout I do at least once a week that gives instant results, every time. I always finish the fourth round with a red face and in the best mood. Pro Tip: It’s a quiet workout perfect for doing next to a sleeping baby.
I love a mall. I said what I said. Passing a couple hours walking the mall, shopping the luxury department stores and people watching is truly a simple human pleasure I hope I never get too jaded to appreciate. Just when it couldn’t get any better two weekends ago, I spotted this perfect not basic, kinda fancy denim skirt from an unknown (to me) brand and wore it four times the first week.
If you struggle with a full blown manicured red lip » try the VB Posh Balms. Collette is my go-to. Apparently the brand has even come through with clinically-proven results that show the formulation offers 24-hour lip moisturization and visibly improves lip texture and smoothness. Personally, this is the only nourishing lip treatment meets lipstick I’ve ever placed a reorder for!
The Protein Powder I Wanted to Hate, but couldn’t. I really didn’t want to love Ballerina Farm’s Creamy Chocolate Protein Powder. Nothing personal against Hannah, who’s lifestyle and good ol’ fashion values I admire — but mostly because I just didn’t want to believe all that could make a pantry staple. My kids love it plain with nut milk. But mostly we eat it in our overnight chia seed chocolate puddings in these glass jars in the mornings.
Facial Reflexology — If you’re craving the feeling of a deep exhale, I love this facial reflexology tool by the late Dana Omari. Infamous for her ‘back to basics’ approach to skincare and self care — this tool is incredibly well-made, with nearly 1,000 rave reviews from women treating bloating, TMJ even migraines with it. I reach for it morning and night paired with the Best Skin Ever SB Oil, chant a mantra and slow down my breathing.
