One of the things I love about the internet is connecting with people you would’ve otherwise never known.
To witness their expression and creativity in a way that inspires and sometimes, surprisingly, moves you.
These connections - whether in person or online - are becoming increasingly more vital for women as we navigate the growing isolation and pressures of motherhood.
It has become the modern day village.
Because motherhood is often seen, felt and heard beyond conversation, we wanted to capture these everyday “soundbites” of music, stories, and poetry in THE MOTHERSHIP audio collection… calling them “INTERLUDES”.
Ana is a mystery mom to me. We are social media pen pals and are part of similar circles in Los Angeles, but have only met briefly.
When she posted her reflections on motherhood around her son’s 2nd birthday, I connected with her words instantly. All the lingering thoughts and feelings that I wouldn’t have had the words to articulate were so beautifully expressed in her storytelling.
We are so grateful for Ana’s contribution to THE MOTHERSHIP Volume II and hope this spoken word poem finds you where you’re at. To offer a reminder that this time in motherhood is fleeting and precious.
Although some days are taxing and lonely and hard, you are in the depths of your greatest work.
About Ana Orrach
Ana Orrach is an intuitive mother to her 3 year old embodied son. She’s a writer, creative, and reflector.
When her son was born she was cracked wide open to the sacred work of raising children. She deeply believes that becoming a parent is spiritual work that focuses on the reparenting oneself through the reflection of our children.
Her writings take you on a personal journey and exploration into the depths that is motherhood, by sharing her soul's voice, she hopes that you get to catch a glimmer of your own reflection.
In what she calls her past life, Ana was the head of production of a post production company, working on commercial advertising, music videos, and documentaries. You may even get to hear her voice over work on a few of those commercials.
